Let’s choose the right ball gag for you

They just can’t talk back. They can try. It is pathetic though and funny. They are powerless and salivating a lot too. But they can’t swallow. I understand why you like or would like to use a ball gag. 

Of course always get consent before you use a ball gag or an O gag with somebody. And agree on what their non verbal safe word is. It is even better to have not just one, so you can be sure that you don’t push them too far. A brat submissive friend of mine just shows her middle finger. But this can be taps, head movements, blink signals. If your partner is gaged you have to be especially alert to see what is going on for them. (Or don’t gag them if you can’t provide this.) 

Why use a gag and not just stuff something in their mouth?

Stuffing something in your partner’s mouth can be dangerous. It can affect their breathing, this is especially true to panties or stockings that can detangle and cause problems. It sounds hot in stories but this is real life and real risque. I'm not saying to forget about panties or stockings or socks completely. You can wrap and tape them around the gag securely, and then put the “enriched” gag on.

Always be sure that your partner can breath over their nose well before using a gag. For example I can only breathe well only through one of my nostrils only. I also have a very sensitive throat so ball gags used on me are a hard no for me.

The reason for a no can be psychological too. The best way to test if you don’t know it yet is to check it not during the play. Just to test how it feels in a situation when both of your attention is really on what is going on and your judgement is clear.

Ok, so what to look for in a gag?

The first question is: what are you going to use the gag for exactly?

I mean if you want a ball gag or an o gag or something different?

The ball gags give an experience of a “full mouth”. So this also means less air, and more struggle.

Full gags are mostly made of silicone and sometimes of harder materials. The harder they are, the more uncomfortable they are too for the teeth. It does matter what you are biting on. Of course if you opt for discomfort, the harder the better.

Breathable gags are usually a bit on the harder side but they have halls. The reason for the hardness is that when you bite on the ball the holes still have to stay open to provide enough air.

The trickiest if the ball gags is the one side ball, the other side is a penis version. The dildo is on the smaller side. You can use it in a way that the dildo is faced inside or outside. I actually tried this when my partner was gagged. And I have to tell you it was less fun than I imagined. It requires lots of coordination. But it can still work especially as some kind of extra punishment that is a reward as well in some ways, or something to simply endure.

Choosing an O ring means that your partner still can’t speak, they can be loud though, but at the same time there is enough air and also the mouth is totally accessible anytime as long as you want, so that you can use it for your own pleasure. 

The silicone ones are a bit more on the “friendly” side here.

When you choose a gag, it is worth knowing the size of the opening of your mouth to find the right diameter, to check what fits.
