PlayBlue - Year 2025

Another PlayBlue year whizzes by and I'm writing another PlayBlue year review post. Working at PlayBlue you sometimes get a little isolated from the troubles of the world around you as when you are surrounded by 8" Cocks it's hard to think of anything else. So forgive me if I gloss of any major world events.

This year at PlayBlue it has been a year of the usual hunt for perfection and incremental improvements built on years of work. We have been at this for over 14 years now which is mad to think but we have also learnt a lot about the sexual appetite of the Irish. We as a nation are definitely exploring more niche as Bondage and Anal play have firmly planted mainstream status. 

We have also struggled hard to barely touch prices with the vast vast majority of product prices remaining unchanged in the midst of a cost of living crisis. 

Year at PlayBlue in Review

In truth it has been a year of continuing to do what is right every time. Just keep answering every support message, track every order, source new products, fight for lower prices and keep doing it every day. That in our opinion is the real PlayBlue secret sauce.

Tons of New Products and Brands - We enjoyed our usual few trade shows and supplier visits to keep right on the cutting edge of what is great and new in the sex toy industry. With new brands like Sei Mio, S-Vibe, Satisfyer Lube & Massage Oils and Bedroom Fantasies. Fun Factory just recently also relaunched with a whole new range of products and super low prices.

Then we also add loads of new products from existing brands like a New Doxy Compact Go, Lovense Lush 4 launched and hundreds more.

Over 1,200 PlayBlue Videos Live - PlayBlue videos have continued to be a focus but we have also added 100s of vendor videos too giving you the absolute best information we can pre-purchase.

PlayBlue DeadlyDeals - We religiously stuck to our at least once per week Deadly Deals. We also ventured a little more into more niche deadly deals which seemed to be really popular. Expect a load more in 2026

Grace Alice on PlayBlue - We have always been huge fans of Grace Alice and this year signed up with her to have her own dedicated PlayBlue section where she talks about her favourite sex toys. If you know Grace Alice you will know these are always her own true opinions which is exactly what we want.

PlayBlue Tallaght - Our sex store in Tallaght has been given a real shake-up make-over to make it more like a store and less intimidating. We have amazing staff there who are delighted to help. 

Viktoria Sex Coach Continues to Shine - The amount of free amazing content she has published for us this year is amazing, she’s an absolute machine. Viktoria also has loads of real toy reviews where she pulls no punches.

Buying sex toys continues to be a little like the wild west. There are a load of cowboys and no regulations. It really is a case of buyer beware. The big Chinese online stores continue to flood and pollute the market selling loads of cheap rubbish at mad prices that never satisfy making customers reconsider the value in sex toys. 

Quality branded sex toys are still fantastic value and will give years of incredible experiences if minded well. A cheap plastic vibrator for €3 will only give you a feeling of being let down and possibly a rash. 

Male Masturbators continue to explore all the possible ways to excite and the Irish are snapping them up. Now firmly our biggest category. We are also delighted to see quality sex toy brands make gains and the Irish people continue to discover the joy of lubes.

The move to online purchasing in our experience is plateauing and we are seeing great growth in our Tallaght store. Personally I believe after getting bitten buying sex toys on dodgy websites some customers now want to see what they are getting before they buy. Our in-store prices are the same as our online prices so come on down the price is right.

As usual all our successes are 100% down to our loyal customers and incredible staff. Our fantastic courier partners and ever growing list of suppliers have really helped us especially in getting Deadly Deals.
