Review: Loving Joy Universal Black Strap On Harness

This was my first strap-on harness. And believe me, I really looked around and got plenty of information about strap-ons. Because I’m the kind of woman who wants to figure things out, and understand them, and know what I’m looking for.

The Loving Joy Universal Black Strap-On Harness wasn’t my choice because I fell in love with it at first sight. I wasn’t sure about it, but it ticked most of my boxes.

What wasn’t I sure about?

Mostly the strap thing. It just seemed complicated and I was like… the more simple, the better. But I have already tried 2 “simple” (strapless ones, and they didn’t work for me for pegging) and I decided to give a chance to this harness.

What I wanted from a strap-on?

Open crotch

If a strap-on had a harness, I wanted one with an open crotch, so that there is no strap over my vulva. This is not just because of comfort, but also because of hygienic reasons. And this one provides this openness.

Padding

I wanted a strap-on that has some padding under the triangle that holds the dildo. Because when I will be thrusting the dildo will press back and the padding acts like extra protection.
This padding here is quite good actually. I don’t have a problem with that.

Variability

I also wanted variability. A system that holds the dildo I choose at a fixed place. And this part is partially works. I had to add my own solution here.

But first thing first.

This harness has snaps that hold the ring that holds the dildo. So far so good. It actually has 2 rings, so that it can accommodate wider dildos too. I appreciate the idea. Unfortunately these rings are not strong enough to hold most of the dildos well, it gets loose and then you lose the dildo. This can be easily fixed as you can see it in my video. Actually there are 2 solutions to this not “just” one.

Some strap-on harnesses are equipped with metal rings rather than rubber ones, like this harness. They are super solid to keep your dildo at place. They don’t have flexibility. I like the strong rubber rings better.

A stronger ring also means that the harness can hold a bigger dildo. Because a bigger dildo means a heavier dildo, and a heavier dildo means more force on the ring. So I would choose the size of the dildo according to the ring… and the straps. The weight affects the comfort of the straps.

Different angles

This is part of the variability but it is not about the size of the dildo. I wanted a strap-on where I can change the angle of the dildo. It is important for me where exactly that dildo is, the height of it, and the angle. This can be important for practical reasons, mine is a bit different. The dildo has to be where my energetic cock is. This is ridiculous to some people, but I'm fine with that as long as I get my satisfaction.

What would I choose differently the next time?

To be honest I’m ok with this harness. They work perfectly now.  There are better ones for sure and I know I will have other harnesses and I will use them, and I will know more about what can make everything even more pleasurable.

Probably I would go for more comfort with wider and better feeling straps. I don’t plan to use huge dildos so it is really about the feeling part. Straps that can be easily cleaned after every use with a toy cleaner would absolutely be welcome.

There are strap-ons that look better. This is just an extra, to be honest, not a necessity.

One thing is sure. I love strap-ons. I’m going to have more of them.
